// KC'S ADVANCED ENERGY ADVISORY COUNCIL

The Kansas City region’s efforts to expand and strengthen its advanced energy industry are supported by an advisory council consisting of local industry experts and advocates. A group of professionals from education, economic development, utilities, real estate and other support industries, make up the KC Advanced Energy Advisory Council.

The Advisory Council’s primary mission is to support the KCADC Staff and Board of Directors in the attraction, expansion, retention and creation of companies or organizations in the advanced energy business. The Advisory Council’s recommendations assist in advancing the capacity and capabilities in the Kansas City area for designing, engineering, commercializing, and manufacturing advanced energy systems including wind, solar, fuel cells, high energy battery, and advanced biofuels.

// THE ADVISORY COUNCIL'S RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Analysis of the advanced energy industry relative to opportunities in Kansas City, including the identification of the types of alternative energy products/services that are currently produced/sold in the region.

  • Advise and direct specific advanced energy recruitment strategies and tactics aimed at increasing the region’s competitiveness for job and investment creation projects in this sector.

  • Increase the ability of KCADC  to influence advanced energy projects to locate in the KC region through leveraging the expertise, contacts and general knowledge of our investor base active in advanced energy business activities through this advisory council.

  • Share recommendations to KCADC regarding strategy to grow Kansas City’s advanced energy sector. Recommendations will likely touch on the following areas:

    • Asset Mapping
    • Marketing & Communications
    • Business Recruitment
    • Legislative initiatives
